The Princess and the Pilot Afterword

Back again with another post, this time it’s an afterword! Can you guys believe the last one was almost two months ago? Surprising.

Well onto the post, I managed to watch the latest film by Madhouse and TMS Entertainment — for those unaware, these are the same fine studios that brought us the brilliant Redline, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Lept Through Time, and Akira among others — titled To Aru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku or Remembrances for a Certain Pilot, though I believe the US release title will be called, “The Princess and the Pilot.”

The plot of the film, taken straight from Wikipedia: Koroku Inumura’s original war romance light novel revolves around Charles Karino, a Revaamu Empire mercenary aerial pilot who mans the twin-seater reconnaissance seaplane Santa Cruz. One day, he receives a preposterous assignment: to fly solo over 12,000 kilometers of enemy waters to protect a girl named Fana del Moral. Fana happens to be the next in line to the empire’s throne.

Another week, another post. Back again with another segment on The World, the fantasy project me and Xewleer have been working on and off on since 2004~ish. Today’s topic is a little short story that is in an extremely early development stage (trying very hard to not make this another essay like last weeks) and actually I haven’t quite worked out much of it at all.

Hello again! Today I’m doing another one of these The World posts, the topic is a bit different than normal. Yes it’s another story arc, but this time around the idea is still very much concept.

Xanatos;Deception is the 3rd in the Xanatos series (Possibility and Rebellion being the first two) and it tells the story of a John something, the something being, I haven’t thought of the last name yet. Possibility and Rebellion were easier in that they dealt with a John Smith and John Titor respectively. This post however isn’t involving John’s story, it involves a character I will refer to as 2nd (john = 1st). 2nd is currently a placeholder, but for now she is a girl and her story is in the Realm of Reflection (hence the story titled as 2nd’s Reflection). Each of these “worlds” is a plain that houses one of the nine pieces of Liselotte Corvina’s soul. Liselotte, in short, was an ancient witch of great power that sought to destroy the order of The World. She was defeated when Senne, her cousin and person whom she loved, joined with 8 others to seal her for eternity. The price they paid however, was to gain a faux immortality and to become trapped in their own realms.

Afterward: The Once and Future King

I’m done reading T.H. White’s Once and Future King, likely one of the best stories about King Arthur and his Round Table.

Has been quite a while since I’ve done one of these (nearly TWO YEARS in fact). As usual, I was really pressured, so I’ll see if I can do more of these going forward. Work on The World, is progressing at a sluggish pace (it being a two person project thus far, hasn’t helped), but I believe a great 50%+ of it shall be done in my life time.
