Yūta Togashi is a boy who, during junior high school, had ‘adolescent delusions’ (中二病 chūnibyō?, lit. “junior high school second grade illness”), believing that he possesses supernatural powers and dubbing himself the ‘Dark Flame Master,’ therefore alienating himself from his classmates. Finding his past embarrassing, Yūta attempts to start off high school where he does not know anyone, free from his old delusions. This proves to be difficult, however, as a delusional girl in his class, Rikka Takanashi, learns of Yūta’s past and becomes interested in him.

As the plot progreses Rikka becomes more attached to Yūta, who despite finding her delusions irritating and embarrassing, accepts her. He helps Rikka with a number of things, including founding and maintaining her club and tutoring her. When he joins her on her summer vacation, Yūta learns that when Rikka was very young her father, whom she was very close to, died unexpectedly due to a terminal illness, causing her to fall into her delusions. After Yūta agrees to help Rikka search for the ‘eternal horizon’ (which she believes will lead her to her father) she becomes romantically interested in him and vice versa.

In the year 2022, the Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG), Sword Art Online (SAO), is released. With the Nerve Gear, a virtual reality helmet that stimulates the user’s five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds.

On November 6, 2022, all the players log in for the first time, and subsequently discover that they are unable to log out. They are then informed by Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of SAO, that if they wish to be free, they must reach the 100th floor of the game’s tower and defeat the final boss. However, if their avatars die in-game, their bodies will also die in the real world. The story follows Kirito, a skilled player who is determined to beat the game.

Mouretsu Pirates Afterword

Hey everyone, here’s a somewhat proper post. Since I’ve been doing mainly Scribbles lately, these have really been pushed behind. After my project is done this week, I’m hoping to do at least 1 proper post every week (or so), so thanks for sticking with us. I’ll try to keep these posts away from anime, as I know readers of this blog tend to visit for the other topics as well.

I haven’t done an Afterword in awhile and I just finished this little wonderful series recently, so I’ll have a go at it. As per tradition from wiki,

In the far future where space travel has become the norm, Marika Kato is a high school girl living a rather ordinary life as a member of the space yacht club and a part-time job at a high-class retro café. One day, Marika learns of her recently deceased father, Gonzaemon, who is revealed to have been a Space Pirate who performed legal acts of piracy under the letter of marque. In order for her father’s ship, the Bentenmaru, to continue legal operation, Marika, Gonzaemon’s direct descendant, is chosen to become the ship’s new captain, thus beginning her life as a Space Pirate.

Been almost a month since the last one of these, I’m a terrible blogger :[. Not much has been going on over here, did have my wisdom teeth taken out and a few school projects, otherwise I’ve been lazing around. I’m going to try to fit in another post this week, but we’ll see how that goes. The biggest mental strain this week has to be the 4th of July Holiday coupled with bills I need to deal with. I saw the movie Ted and the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movies, both recommended, but I won’t go anymore into either for this post.
